Philanthropy Today

updated: 03/23/2023

Philanthropy Today is a student-led giving club program offered in a selection of public high schools in Bucks County, PA. The program provides the framework for each student club to make collective funding decisions to non-profit organizations that impact their communities. Students work together to identify community needs and then research and assess local non profits that are addressing those needs. Philanthropy Today Clubs have directed more than $175,000 to local charitable organizations since the program started in the 2013-14 academic year. With a budget from the Norman Raab Foundation, each giving club makes the decisions about what organizations to fund in order to effect change in their communities.

Philanthropy Today Student Clubs

Philanthropy Today student club members demonstrate teamwork, critical thinking, and empathy in their efforts to support their local communities through philanthropy. Student groups in several Bucks County public schools have participated in Philanthropy Today clubs in recent years, including New Hope-Solebury High School, William Tennent High School, and Shafer Middle School.

Middle Bucks Institute of Technology

The Norman Raab Foundation is proud of the ongoing partnership with the students of Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT). Students at MBIT represent several Bucks County high schools, and work collaboratively in the Philanthropy Today Club to support their community.

The MBIT Philanthropy Today Clubs have focused their grants in a wide range of community services including: substance abuse and addiction, mental health support, foster youth and families, and sexual abuse and victim advocacy.
